A 36-year-old San Juan man who is sus­pect­ed of “stor­ing” weapons for crim­i­nals was ar­rest­ed af­ter he was found with an AK-47 and am­mu­ni­tion at his home on Thurs­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force went to Pe­tit Bourg, around 4.30 pm when they found the as­sault ri­fle in a white plas­tic bag un­der his bed.

The weapon had a mag­a­zine which con­tained 29 rounds of 7.62 am­mu­ni­tion.

The man was ar­rest­ed.

The ex­er­cise was led by Snr Supt Ed­wards, Supt Birch, ASP Cal­len­dar and In­sp Ram­s­ingh with su­per­vi­sion from Sgt Mar­tin, Cpls Lavia, and Guy-King.
