National swimmer Jada Chatoor was third in the women's 500 yard freestyle B-final when the University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championship continued at the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday.
Competing omn in the women's 500 yard freestyle B-final Chatoor had to settle for the third spot in four minutes, 58.97 seconds to trail New York University's Bethany Spangler who won in four minutes, 57.22 seconds and her Emory University teammate Meredith Teague who stopped the clock at four minutes, 58.87.
At the end of the first two days of competition, the Emory University women's swimming & diving team used one event title and seven All-UAA finishes to surge to the lead with 699 points. A closely competitive three-way race at the top sees New York University standing just 22 points behind Emory through two days of action with the University of Chicago in third with 561.5 points.
