Police are probing the death of a four-month-old baby, after it was classified as unnatural.
The baby boy was unresponsive when his 22-year-old mother took him into the San Fernando General Hospital on Wednesday.
An autopsy performed at the San Fernando mortuary found that he died from unnatural causes—haemorrhaging to the head.
Police investigators have since recorded a statement from the baby’s mother at the Mon Repos Police Station.
The mother told police that she fed her son and put him to sleep at their Ponsietta Lane, Pleasantville home at 2 am.
After she got ready for work at 4 am, she said she checked on him and found that he was unresponsive.
WPC Skeete of the Mon Repos Police Station is investigating.
