The T&T Po­lice Ser­vice says sev­er­al per­sons are be­ing in­ter­viewed and as­sist­ing the po­lice in their in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to a re­port of a rob­bery of Min­is­ter of Health, Ter­rence Deyals­ingh.

Re­ports in­di­cate that Deyals­ingh, 66, was sit­ting on a bench out­side a bar along King Street, St. Joseph, around 4:55 pm, on

Tues­day, when he was ap­proached by two men, one armed with a firearm.

The gun­man point­ed the firearm at the vic­tim’s head and an­nounced a rob­bery. The as­sailants re­lieved the vic­tim of a gold-coloured bracelet be­fore mak­ing their es­cape in a green-coloured ve­hi­cle.

Of­fi­cers of the St. Joseph Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice, ‘In­tel­li­gence and In­ves­ti­ga­tions’, Suzette Mar­tin, says the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice strong­ly con­demns the in­ci­dent and that ef­forts are un­der­way to ap­pre­hend the per­pe­tra­tors in the short­est pos­si­ble time.
