Soca artiste Shurwayne Winchester is mourning the deaths of his mother and father, who died just one day after the other.
Public relations liaison, Aba Luke confirmed the passing of Winchester’s parents.
“It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the passing of Shurwayne Winchester’s both parents, one day after the other,” a statement said.
The statement added that despite the unfortunate circumstances, Winchester managed to host and entertain his audience at Addiction—The Breakfast All Inclusive In Arima, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Further details about how Winchester’s parents passed and when exactly were not shared.
The statement further said, “At this time, Shurwayne and his family, thank his supporters, colleagues across the industry, and all else, for their well wishes and condolences.”
On social media, fans and colleagues expressed condolences and extended love to Winchester.
Winchester, 51, is a two-time Road March champion and he also copped the 2006 International Power Soca Monarch and Groovy Soca Monarch titles.
