A Laventille man became the 51st murder victim for the year after he was shot and left for dead in some bushes on Friday morning.
The deceased was later identified as Arsham Harris of Dan Kelly, Picton Road, Laventille.
Emergency Health Services were notified around 3.50 am on Saturday, that a man was seen lying in some bushes.
Upon arrival, personnel discovered an unresponsive Harris, who had been clad in a red jersey and jeans, lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds about the body.
The District Medical Officer was summoned and pronounced Harris dead at the scene.
Nearby residents claimed Harris was a mental patient.
