Of­fi­cers have seized firearms, sev­er­al rounds of am­mu­ni­tion, and quan­ti­ties of nar­cotics dur­ing var­i­ous ex­er­cis­es on Wednes­day.

In the West­ern Di­vi­sion, be­tween 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Feb­ru­ary 19, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search at the home of two per­sons of in­ter­est.

Dur­ing the search of an open yard at a Diego Mar­tin res­i­dence, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a bag con­tain­ing a Colt .45 pis­tol, fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing four rounds of .380 am­mu­ni­tion, along with 47 rounds of .45 am­mu­ni­tion and a hol­ster. The items were seized, and in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the find are on­go­ing.

In the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, be­tween mid­day and 4:00 pm, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search in an aban­doned build­ing in the vicin­i­ty of Mun­gal Trace, Or­ange Field Road, Cara­pichaima. The team dis­cov­ered a plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 75 grams of co­caine. They al­so searched the ceil­ing of the build­ing and found a box with 20 rounds of 7.62 am­mu­ni­tion.

In an­oth­er ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers from the In­ter-Agency Task Force and Ca­nine Unit, con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Harpe Place, Ob­ser­va­to­ry Street, Port-of-Spain. They dis­cov­ered a con­tain­er with 262 grams of cannabis, which was sub­se­quent­ly seized.
