Homicide detectives are investigating two murders that occurred overnight in La Romaine and Penal.
Police said that around 10:30 p.m., 31-year-old Zaid Mohammed scuffled with three occupants, including a woman, inside a silver Almera that had stopped near Rosetta Drive along Dumfries Road in La Romaine.
Mohammed exited the car, but it rolled over him and then crashed into a drain.
He got up and limped a short distance before collapsing and dying.
His attackers left in the car.
Meanwhile, police said that shortly after midnight, someone found the body of 60-year-old Lucky Jagdeo, also known as Pam, in a river.
Police said Jagdeo had been liming with the suspect in a shed near the riverbank on the SANSEE Complex compound in San Francique while consuming alcohol.
The suspect began arguing with Jagdeo and beat him. Another man tried to intervene but was chased off. Sometime later, someone found Jagdeo floating in the river.
Police have detained a suspect. Officers of Homicide Bureau 3 are investigating.
