An el­der­ly man and his two adult chil­dren were robbed dur­ing a home in­va­sion in Pe­nal on Mon­day.

Po­lice said the 88-year-old man and his 44-year-old son were beat­en by the in­trud­ers.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the fa­ther and his son were in the gallery up­stairs in their home around 9 pm, when two gun­men ran up a stair­case and point­ed the guns at them.

The el­der­ly man and his son were beat­en about the heads and or­dered to lie face down in the liv­ing room.

The oth­er vic­tim was down­stairs when she heard the com­mo­tion and went to in­ves­ti­gate. The ban­dits al­so forced her to lie on the floor and robbed the fam­i­ly of $11,000 in sav­ings, a $4,500 lap­top, a $1,100 Nokia cell phone and a quan­ti­ty of jew­ellery.

The armed ban­dits es­caped through some bush­es at the back of the house.
