A 17-year-old Caroni schoolgirl was pistol-whipped by bandits who stormed her family’s home robbing everyone inside on Tuesday night.
Police said the family of five and their neighbour were at their Caroni Southbank Road, Kelly Village, home at around 8.35 pm when three masked bandits stormed the house.
One of the suspects was armed with a gun and struck the girl on her head, before hitting the girl’s father on the left side of his face when he hesistated in handing over the keys to a car that was parked outside.
The bandits stole two cellphones and the keys before trying to flee in the parked car, before realising that it had no battery.
The suspects threw the keys away before running away.
Officers from the Caroni Police Station are investigating.
