A Wood­land man charged with sev­en counts of sex­u­al of­fences against a ten-year-old girl has been de­nied bail af­ter ap­pear­ing be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate.

The ac­cused, Raf­fie Mo­hammed, 40, of La For­tune Road, ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Whit­ney Franklin in a San Fer­nan­do Court on Wednes­day but was not called up­on to plead. He will re­main in State cus­tody, un­til a suf­fi­cien­cy hear­ing on Au­gust 19.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­port, Mo­hammed faces four counts of sex­u­al pen­e­tra­tion of a mi­nor, two counts of sex­u­al touch­ing of a mi­nor and one count of sex­u­al groom­ing of a mi­nor. The in­ci­dents oc­curred be­tween Oc­to­ber 8, 2024 and Feb­ru­ary 2, 2025.

Fol­low­ing a re­port to San Fer­nan­do Po­lice, Cpl Hug­gins led in­ves­ti­ga­tions and ar­rest­ed Mo­hammed at his home on Feb­ru­ary 4 and sub­se­quent­ly laid the charges.

Sgt Seecha­ran su­per­vised the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, with le­gal ad­vice from at­tor­ney Rea­gan Ra­manan.
