The three teams to gain promotion to the 2025 Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division will be determined on Tuesday (January 21) when the two rescheduled Round One matches take place.
As it stands, three of the four teams, which will be in action on the final day of the round-robin competition, will be in the mix to cement a top-three finish and promotion.
This, as Carapichaima East Secondary, Trinity College of Moka and Hillview College, all have five points each and are locked in a three-way lead at the top while Scarborough Secondary is next with four points, and cellar-placed Pleasantville Secondary, one.
However, while East Zone champion Hillview has completed its four-match campaign and needs results to go its way to remain among the top three, Carapichaima East Secondary, Trinity College of Moka and Scarborough Secondary, all have a match left.
On Tuesday, Pleasantville Secondary, who saw its promotion hopes end in a 3-1 away loss to Scarborough Secondary earlier this month, hosts Trinity College of Moka at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium Training Field in Marabella while Carapichaima East meets Scarborough Secondary at St Mary's Recreation Ground, both from 3.30 pm.
Such is the closeness of the promotion race, Carapichaima East, who will enter the round at the top of the table, could still find itself outside of the top three should it suffer a defeat by a heavy margin while Trinity College of Moka could also suffer the same outcome should it go under to Pleasantville.
At the end of the "Big Five", the top three teams will be promoted to replace the trio of Speyside Secondary, East Mucurapo Secondary, and Miracle Ministries Pentecostal High School, who were relegated after ending in positions 14th, 15th, and 16th, respectively, in the 2024 SSFL Premier Division.
