The body of a 62-year-old New Grant man who had been miss­ing since last Fri­day has been found in a shal­low stream in his vil­lage.

Vish­nu Pooran­lal of Hin­dus­tan Road was last seen on Jan­u­ary 24 and was re­port­ed miss­ing to the po­lice two days lat­er.

While search­ing for him yes­ter­day, the Hunters Search and Res­cue Team, led by Cap­tain Val­lence Ram­per­sad, lo­cat­ed his body in a shal­low stream about 500 me­tres off the Hin­dus­tan Road at about 2.20 pm.

Ear­li­er that morn­ing, the team found the body of 19-year-old Justin Thomas along the shore­line in Pa­lo Seco.

On Mon­day, the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice is­sued a press re­lease ask­ing the pub­lic for ur­gent as­sis­tance in lo­cat­ing Pooran­lal.

Ac­cord­ing to the re­lease, he was last seen wear­ing a red shirt and a pair of long black pants.

Table­land po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
