WELLING­TON, New Zealand – The West In­dies have suf­fered a ma­jor set­back with open­er Tage­nar­ine Chan­der­paul ruled out of the sec­ond Test against New Zealand be­cause of in­jury

Chan­der­paul, who scored a cru­cial half cen­tu­ry in the first in­nings of the open­ing Test, suf­fered a side strain while prac­tic­ing in the nets on Tues­day.

The left-hand­ed bats­man is cur­rent­ly be­ing ex­am­ined by the med­ical team to de­ter­mine the full ex­tent of the in­jury as well as his avail­abil­i­ty for the re­main­der of the se­ries.
