The new Courts Megastore has been opened with much fanfare.
Two Sundays ago, exactly one week following the opening of the new Megastore in San Juan Courts teamed up with TCL—one of its notable electronics partners—to host the TCL Viewing Event. The event was designed to showcase TCL’s advanced quantum dot mini LED (QD mini LED) technology featured in the world’s largest television—the 115” Mini LED TV, as well as the TCL Art TV.
The event also featured a mini concert featuring musical acts such as Freetown Collective, Yung Bredda, Nailah Blackman and Los Alumnos de San Juan, who entertained the audience while the performances were broadcast on TCL screens throughout the store. The day also included exciting TCL-branded prize giveaways and more.
For over 40 years, TCL has grown from local pioneer to a truly global technology leader.
Unicomer’s merchandise and purchasing manager for Electrical and Electronics, Meranda Ramoutar, explained the workings of the Mini LED technology and its benefits to the viewing experience. She said, “Mini LED technology completely changes how a television looks and feels. Instead of using one large backlight like traditional TVs, Mini LED uses thousands of tiny lights that turn on and off independently. This means darker blacks, brighter highlights, and much sharper contrast on screen.”
She continued, “Added colour technology delivers richer, more realistic colours, while precision lens design makes the image brighter and clearer from edge to edge. Together, these features make sports feel like you’re right in the stadium and movies feel like a private cinema experience.”
Unicomer’s corporate communications and public relations manager, Cindy James, elaborated on the purpose of the event. She shared, “Our goal with the TCL Viewing Event was to give customers a first-hand experience of the exceptional quality of TCL’s Mini LED technology, while also thanking them with a live pop-up concert that supports our soca and parang heritage.” She added, “This event was part two of the Courts Megastore launch, following the official pre-opening ceremony in November.”
The new Courts Megastore is a forward-focused retail destination dedicated to delivering the latest in high-quality electronics alongside exceptional customer experiences, Courts said in a release. At the same time, Courts said it remains deeply committed to supporting cultural expression and community engagement by creating spaces where local talent, creativity, and connection can thrive.
