The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) has launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to a video cir­cu­lat­ing on so­cial me­dia that ap­pears to show a WASA dri­ver asleep at the wheel of an of­fi­cial, marked ve­hi­cle.

"We take this mat­ter se­ri­ous­ly and have ini­ti­at­ed a thor­ough in­ves­ti­ga­tion to de­ter­mine the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent," the agency said in a me­dia re­lease.

WASA gave its com­mit­ment to main­tain­ing high safe­ty and pro­fes­sion­al­ism stan­dards, not­ing that while many em­ploy­ees work de­mand­ing shifts, any be­hav­iour that vi­o­lates pro­to­cols will be "ad­dressed prompt­ly and ap­pro­pri­ate­ly."

The video shows a man record­ing a WASA van parked in the road with the en­gine run­ning. While wide­ly shared it does not give a lo­ca­tion, al­though it ap­pears to be Mu­cu­rapo Road. 

The video ends be­fore it's known if any­one woke up or checked on the dri­ver. WASA's re­lease didn't give any ad­di­tion­al in­for­ma­tion ei­ther.
