Two men ap­peared in the South Mas­ters Court yes­ter­day charged with tam­per­ing with a mo­tor ve­hi­cle.

The men were charged based on in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the theft of a white Kia K2700 in Rio Claro.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, per­son­nel at­tached to the Stolen Ve­hi­cle Unit of Car Search con­duct­ed in­ves­ti­ga­tions af­ter the ve­hi­cle was re­port­ed stolen on Jan­u­ary 3. They re­cov­ered the ve­hi­cle the next day in Cedar Hill Vil­lage.

The ve­hi­cle was tak­en to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, where of­fi­cers were able to ob­tain foren­sic ev­i­dence.

The sus­pects, Ron­del Ram­jat­tan, 29, of Cedar Hill Vil­lage, Princes Town, and Naven­dra Balkissoon, 42, of Teak Av­enue, Princes Town were grant­ed bail for $400,000 and $300,000 re­spec­tive­ly.

While the charges are of ve­hi­cle tam­per­ing, the state­ment by the Po­lice Ser­vice did not iden­ti­fy who was charged with steal­ing the ve­hi­cles.
