Two men appeared in the South Masters Court yesterday charged with tampering with a motor vehicle.
The men were charged based on investigations into the theft of a white Kia K2700 in Rio Claro.
According to police reports, personnel attached to the Stolen Vehicle Unit of Car Search conducted investigations after the vehicle was reported stolen on January 3. They recovered the vehicle the next day in Cedar Hill Village.
The vehicle was taken to the Forensic Science Centre, where officers were able to obtain forensic evidence.
The suspects, Rondel Ramjattan, 29, of Cedar Hill Village, Princes Town, and Navendra Balkissoon, 42, of Teak Avenue, Princes Town were granted bail for $400,000 and $300,000 respectively.
While the charges are of vehicle tampering, the statement by the Police Service did not identify who was charged with stealing the vehicles.
