Hours af­ter the Postal Work­ers' Union said they re­ject­ed TT Post's 4% of­fer, TT Post is now say­ing the union failed to at­tend a sched­uled ne­go­ti­a­tion meet­ing to­day, de­spite hav­ing agreed to the date last month.

The union had crit­i­cised the choice of Drew Manor in San­ta Cruz as the venue for ne­go­ti­a­tions, cit­ing cost con­cerns say­ing TTPost's Pi­ar­co head­quar­ters would have been a bet­ter lo­ca­tion.

TT Post said the no-show dis­rupt­ed the agreed-up­on ne­go­ti­a­tion process and de­layed dis­cus­sions on key is­sues, in­clud­ing al­lowances and non-pe­cu­niary items re­lat­ed to salaries.

TT Post said the Postal Work­ers Union did not sub­mit its coun­ter­pro­pos­als for the bar­gain­ing pe­ri­ods 2011-2013, 2014-2016, and 2017-2019, which were due by the first week of Jan­u­ary 2025. They said the coun­ter­pro­pos­als were nec­es­sary for pro­gress­ing ne­go­ti­a­tions. TTPost sees the union's ab­sence and fail­ure to pro­vide the ex­pect­ed doc­u­ments as a dis­re­gard for the ne­go­ti­a­tion process and a set­back to ef­forts aimed at achiev­ing mu­tu­al­ly ben­e­fi­cial agree­ments for em­ploy­ees.

TT Post said it re­mains com­mit­ted to con­tin­u­ing ne­go­ti­a­tions and hopes for the union's par­tic­i­pa­tion at the next meet­ing on Jan­u­ary 24, 2025.
