Digicel has removed its $3 over-the-counter payment fee with immediate effect.

The fee, introduced in December 2022, had drawn criticism from customers. Its removal comes as Digicel signals changes to how it operates locally, with other updates expected in the coming months.

“For 19 years, Digicel has been dedicated to serving the people of Trinidad and Tobago, and today we re-ignite our drive toward improving our customer service and satisfaction,” said Pieter Verkade, new CEO of Digicel Trinidad and Tobago.

“We are giving customers a reason to smile again, as this fee was a pain-point for many, and its removal is testament to Digicel listening to our customers’ feedback and acting on it.

We value the loyalty of our customers and commit to doing what it takes to enhance their experience with us. Back in 2006, T&T fell in love with Digicel when we made connectivity affordable and accessible, and we are driven to reignite that passion which was the foundation of our relationship.”
