After placing third in Sunday’s Calypso Monarch, Seal Lots resident Akhenaton “Yung Bredda” Lewis celebrated with his neighbours in the community during their Carnival celebrations yesterday.
Drenched in paint and powder, Yung Bredda, reminded the country that the community he calls home is a place of love, despite being labelled as a crime hotspot.
“This is Sea Lots, this is love. My place, born and grow. We say love every time, no matter what. I am a beacon of light and I’m going to show the world that we have good people right here in Sea Lots. And we have love.”
Coming off a phenomenal Carnival season, Lewis said he is looking forward to next year.
“We are coming to mash up the place still and is just vibes. You see the people in the back, they getting on real bad, they love the artiste. They love home.”
Apart from placing third in the Calypso Monarch, Lewis also won bMobile’s People’s Champion in the Ultimate Soca Championship, in which he also placed second behind Grenadian Wrenroy “Blaka Dan” Ogiste.
