Three sus­pects re­port­ed­ly in­volved in the rob­bery of a Ro­man Catholic priest on Sat­ur­day morn­ing were in­ter­cept­ed and ar­rest­ed by po­lice of­fi­cers along the Sir Solomon Ho­choy High­way, Freeport.

Pre­lim­i­nary re­ports stat­ed that Fa­ther Mau­rice White is cur­rent­ly hos­pi­tal­ized af­ter be­ing shot dur­ing a car rob­bery ear­ly on Sat­ur­day in San­gre Grande.

The of­fi­cers with the aid of the Air Sup­port Tac­ti­cal Sup­port Unit were able to spot the sus­pects dur­ing their at­tempt­ed es­cape.

Fr. Robert Chris­to, Vic­ar for Com­mu­ni­ca­tions in the Arch­dio­cese, has con­firmed the in­ci­dent and stat­ed that an of­fi­cial state­ment with fur­ther de­tails will be re­leased soon.
