A 29-year-old man who went to Corinth Hills in Ste Madeleine last night to collect money for Carnival-related activities was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Trey Bernard of Harmony Hall, Marabella died in front of the gate of a residence at Ninis Lane.
Bernard, his girlfriend and her sister arrived at the location in a vehicle driven by a woman, to meet a man to collect money. They got there around 8:40 pm.
While speaking to someone on his cell phone trying to get the correct location, Bernard came out of the vehicle.
After a few minutes, a white Tiida pulled up, and and the occupants came out and fired several shots at him.
The driver got scared and sped off as Bernard slumped to the ground and died.
Police recovered 11 9mm spent shells and two projectiles close to his body. Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating.
