The Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture, Land and Fish­eries has of­fi­cial­ly closed the 2024-2025 hunt­ing sea­son as of March 1, 2025.

The min­istry or­dered all hunt­ing ac­tiv­i­ties on both pub­lic and pri­vate lands to end by Feb­ru­ary 28, 2025. Hunters must al­so dis­pose of all game car­cass­es by March 31, 2025. Per­mit hold­ers are re­quired to sub­mit their Manda­to­ry Da­ta Re­turn Forms by May 31, 2025, or face fines of TT$2,500 per form.

Hunt­ing dur­ing the closed sea­son is il­le­gal and pun­ish­able by a fine of TT$100,000. 

Of­fi­cials urged the pub­lic to com­ply with reg­u­la­tions to en­sure long-term con­ser­va­tion ef­forts.
