This coun­try came close to record­ing al­most a thou­sand new COVID-19 pos­i­tive cas­es to­day, as the Min­istry of Health record­ed 964 new in­fec­tions, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween De­cem­ber 20th and 23rd.

And in its up­date for to­day, Fri­day 24 De­cem­ber 2021, the Min­istry re­ports that 37 more peo­ple have died from COVID-19, push­ing up the na­tion­al death toll to 2,718 lives lost.

The num­ber of ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, at this time, now stands at 16,543.
