The Min­istry of Health has record­ed five more COVID deaths bring­ing to­day’s to­tal to sev­en. The to­tal num­ber of COVID deaths now stands at 50.

As of the af­ter­noon of Fri­day, 11th Sep­tem­ber, 2020 the Min­istry re­ports the fol­low­ing:

Num­ber of sam­ples sub­mit­ted to the Caribbean Pub­lic Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and oth­er lo­cal sites for test­ing for COVID-19 26,551

Num­ber of sam­ples which have test­ed pos­i­tive at pub­lic and pri­vate fa­cil­i­ties in Trinidad and To­ba­go 2,825

To­tal num­ber of ac­tive cas­es 2,013

Num­ber of deaths 50

Num­ber of per­sons dis­charged 762

The Min­istry of Health pro­vides the fol­low­ing up­date:

The Min­istry of Health re­grets to in­form the pub­lic that there are five (5) ad­di­tion­al COVID-19 re­lat­ed deaths. The per­sons are two el­der­ly males with co-mor­bidi­ties, two el­der­ly fe­males al­so with co-mor­bidi­ties and an adult male. This brings the to­tal num­ber of COVID-19 re­lat­ed deaths to 50.

· Forty-eight (48) ad­di­tion­al per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID -19.

The forty-eight (48) pos­i­tive cas­es re­port­ed above show re­sults from sam­ples tak­en dur­ing the pe­ri­od Sep­tem­ber 4th to Sep­tem­ber 9th, 2020. There­fore, this fig­ure is NOT rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the pos­i­tive cas­es over the last 24 hours on­ly.
