Elderly female is latest COVID-19 victim, deaths up to 65

An el­der­ly fe­male pa­tient with pre-ex­ist­ing health con­di­tions is the lat­est per­son in this coun­try to die from COVID-19, bring­ing the na­tion­al to­tal to 65.

Con­fir­ma­tion has come from the Min­istry of Health, in its lat­est up­date for Sun­day 20 Sep­tem­ber 2020.

The Health Min­istry al­so is re­port­ing an­oth­er thir­ty-five (35) per­sons test­ing pos­i­tive for COVID-19.  These lat­est cas­es bring the to­tal num­ber of ac­tive cas­es to 2,083.

Mean­while, the Min­istry notes that the num­bers of sam­ples sub­mit­ted to CARPHA has passed 29,000, as coro­n­avirus test­ing con­tin­ues apace in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Over­all, some 3,901 per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for the coro­n­avirus since test­ing be­gan ear­li­er this year, at the start of the out­break.
