Four mini-buses, including two red band maxi taxis believed to have been stolen were seized and two men arrested during a police operation in Arima on Monday afternoon.
Police said officers of the Northern and the North Central Divisions together with the Major Crimes Unit visited a garage on Samaroo Village, between 1 pm and 11 pm where they found the vehicles which appeared to be tampered with.
Two men, ages 43 and 46-years-old, who were at the garage at the time were arrested.
The vehicles were towed to a police station for further analysis as part of enquiries.
While at the scene, police were called away to an unrelated incident on the Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna, where they found two men who were wanted by the Anti-Extortion Unit.
Officers confronted the men and searched them when they found a quantity of marijuana over the prescribed amount on one of the suspects.
One of the suspects tried to pull away from the officers, but was eventually subdued and arrested.
