The Ministry of Health has not yet received any reports from women on adverse reactions related to their menstrual cycle after taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

Responding to a reporter's question at yesterday's Ministry of Health's media conference Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram said "I have not received myself as yet reports of any adverse reactions related to changes in the women's menstrual cycle.

"We will have (Director of Women’s Health) Dr Adesh Sirjusingh possibly next week during the press conference to have a discussion on possible side-effects as it relates to changes in the women's menstrual cycle related to vaccination on the whole."

He urged the women who had experienced negative side effects after taking the COVID-19 vaccine to visit their doctor for an assessment.
