A 13-year-old Form One student of Tranquillity Government Secondary School was robbed of an iPhone 12 on the compound on Monday by three masked individuals wearing the school’s uniform.
Police said the incident occurred around 11 am in the Form One block of the school, located on Victoria Avenue, Port-of-Spain.
The young student was approached by the three suspects.
The assailants stole the student’s iPhone 12, valued at $3,200, from his pants pocket before running down the corridor and fleeing the school premises.
Officers responded to the scene and have launched an investigation.
A report has also been filed with the Cyber Crime Unit to assist in tracking the stolen device.
President of the National Parent Teachers Association, Walter Stewart expressed deep concern over the incident. —Rhondor Dowlat
