A one-and-a-half-year-old girl suf­fered a frac­tured skull af­ter she fell 11 feet off a ban­nis­ter while at her babysit­ter’s home in San Fer­nan­do.

Po­lice said the tod­dler was in a sta­ble con­di­tion at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

The ba­by’s moth­er dropped off the tod­dler­at the home of a 19-year-old babysit­ter at Friend­ship Vil­lage at 7 pm on Car­ni­val Mon­day (March 3).  

Of­fi­cers said the babysit­ter re­port­ed that at 5 pm the fol­low­ing day, she went to the wash­room and left the ba­by in the care of her 15-year-old broth­er.

On her way back she heard a com­mo­tion, and her broth­er told her the ba­by had fall­en through the gallery ban­nis­ter in­to a drain.

Two hours lat­er, the moth­er re­turned to pick up her daugh­ter and was told that the ba­by was tak­en to the hos­pi­tal be­cause she had fall­en in­to a drain and got a cut on her head.
