Sangre Grande Police issued 59 Public Health notices to motorists and pedestrians for not wearing face masks on Friday night, while 41 tickets were issued to motorists for overcrowding of vehicles, no lights, loud music, smooth tyres and illegal fittings on vehicles.
The roadblock took place along the Eastern Main Road from 7 pm to 11.30 pm.
The exercise was lead by Asp Joseph, supervised by Sgt Johnson and included officers of the charge room and traffic section. Police also conducted 25 field interviews.
Asp Joseph is appealing to members of the public to follow the Public Health Regulation by wearing their face mask as the spread of COVID-19 virus is on the increase and deaths keep increasing daily.
