A total of 161 candidates will be contesting the upcoming Parliamentary Elections on April 28, the Election and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has confirmed.
A statement by the EBC lists 17 political parties that have fielded candidates for the upcoming general election.
The People's National Movement is the only party contesting all 41 seats.
The Patriotic Front will contest 37, followed by the United National Congress with 34 and the National Transformation Alliance with 17.
There will also be three independent candidates in the 2025 race.
The independents are Ernesto Singh in Chaguanas East, Vivian Johnson in Port-of-Spain North/St Ann's West and Leroy Richard Kelton George in Tobago West.

A total of 19 political parties contested the 2020 general election.
