13 arrested during SOE operations in Southern division

Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) said of­fi­cers made 13 ar­rests dur­ing a se­ries of strate­gic op­er­a­tions in the South­ern Di­vi­sion yes­ter­day.

These op­er­a­tions, con­duct­ed be­tween 10 am and 6 pm in the Princes Town Po­lice Dis­trict, tar­get­ed pri­or­i­ty of­fend­ers and fo­cused on firearm-re­lat­ed crimes, kid­nap­pings, rob­beries, and shoot­ings, the TTPS said in a re­lease.

Of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed four sus­pects for var­i­ous of­fences, in­clud­ing kid­nap­ping, rob­bery with vi­o­lence, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, and house­break­ing. A stolen ve­hi­cle, used in a re­cent kid­nap­ping and rob­bery, was al­so re­cov­ered.

Al­so, a joint op­er­a­tion be­tween 2 pm and 6 pm in the Princes Town and Table­land dis­tricts re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of six more in­di­vid­u­als, three for crimes such as drug pos­ses­sion and weapon of­fences, and three for out­stand­ing war­rants.

In San Fer­nan­do, be­tween 3 pm and 8 pm, two pri­or­i­ty of­fend­ers were ar­rest­ed for mar­i­jua­na pos­ses­sion, and 278 grams of mar­i­jua­na were seized.

On 16th Jan­u­ary, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a con­cealed re­volver in a bushy area on Bougainvil­lea Av­enue, Tar­o­dale.
