11 new COVID cases in Tobago, no new deaths

Eleven more peo­ple have test­ed COVID-19 pos­i­tive in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours, but for­tu­nate­ly, no new deaths.  That’s ac­cord­ing to the up­date for Mon­day 14th Feb­ru­ary 2022, re­leased by the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

The most re­cent COVID-19 death record­ed in To­ba­go was on Tues­day Feb­ru­ary 8th—an un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­son—and the is­land’s death toll re­mains at 238.

Al­though there are 11 new pos­i­tive COVID-19 cas­es, the num­ber of peo­ple re­cov­er­ing from the dis­ease is grow­ing, as the cur­rent ac­tive pos­i­tive cas­es stands at 340 per­sons, down from 365 on Sun­day 13 Feb­ru­ary 2022.

At present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, is now 6,292.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date al­so re­ports that some 10 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19. Of these, eight have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while two per­sons have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

 

Vac­ci­na­tions on the rise

 

On the vac­ci­na­tion front, as of 14 Feb­ru­ary 2022, the Di­vi­sion re­ports that some 4,803 peo­ple have re­ceived an ad­di­tion­al dose of a boost­er shot of a COVID-19 vac­cine.

In ad­di­tion, the num­ber of those who are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—ei­ther via a one-dose or two-dose vac­cine reg­i­men—has in­creased to 24,690, rep­re­sent­ing 46 per cent of the pop­u­la­tion el­i­gi­ble for vac­ci­na­tion.

Those still par­tial­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—that is, per­sons who have re­ceived on­ly one-dose of a two-dose reg­i­men—now stand at 746 per­sons.
