Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley an­nounced the elec­tion date just af­ter 3 pm in Par­lia­ment on Fri­day.

Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley says the bor­ders will not be re­opened to al­low na­tion­als out­side the coun­try the chance to re­turn home to vote in the Au­gust 10 gen­er­al elec­tions.

Prime Min­is­ter Kei­th Row­ley an­nounced the elec­tion date dur­ing the Par­lia­ment sit­ting. Par­lia­ment was dis­solved at mid­night.
