Odyssey of Opulence was the theme for a fashion show on March 22 at Nanan’s Eco Tours, Caroni Bird Sanctuary. Held by the Krista Gabriel Designer Brand (KGDB), the event celebrated sustainable couture.

“This event cements my assertiveness that KGDB is remaining poised to redefine fashion. It is not just about fashion, but a commitment to sustainability,” Gabriel explained, describing it as a ground-breaking approach to fashion that combines eco and elegance with sustainability.

On the runway were models Miss Plus World T&T Cara Samlalsingh; Island Fashion Week co-director Keisha Bas; House of Jacqui’s Sherone Providence; Miss T&T 2024 Jenna-Marie Garcia, and Red Runway-trained Justina Edwards, Kaliah Gabriel and Rebecca Riley. They modelled pieces from the KGDB Sustainable Casual Couture Collection of redesigned and repurposed clothing made from recycled clothing or fabric.

Gabriel said one of the best days in the year is World Recycle Day, as she believes it’s not only healthy for the environment but also job creation and sustainability.
