GUWAHATI, India—Both Shimron Hetmyer and Jofra Archer made insignificant contributions for the Rajasthan Royals in their eight-wicket loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League Wednesday.
Hetmyer scored just seven from eight balls, while Archer, a Barbadian, made 16 in their team’s below-par score of 151 for nine in 20 overs after they were sent in to bat at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
Dhruv Jurel top-scored for the Royals with 33 off 28 deliveries.
The Knight Riders were led by a balanced bowling attack that saw Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Moeen Ali and Varun Chakravarthy each claim two wickets.
Quinton de Kock then smashed an unbeaten 97 from 61 deliveries with eight fours and six sixes to lead the Knight Riders to 153 for two in 17.3 overs.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit an unbeaten 22 off 17 balls in an 83-run partnership with de Kock for the third wicket that carried their team to victory.
