GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF) is set to host the biggest ever 3×3 tournament in the region next month, featuring some of the world’s best 3×3 basketball players and teams.
The highly anticipated One Guyana 3×3 Quest will run from April 5 to 6 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, and will see elite teams from Switzerland, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Bermuda, St. Kitts & Nevis, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, the USA, Ecuador, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and Grenada taking part.
The winner will earn a coveted spot in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour in Edmonton, Canada, in August.
Leading the pack is Puerto Rico’s Carolina, which is ranked 14th globally by FIBA and the third-highest ranked team in the Americas.
Carolina is spearheaded by Antonio Ralat, who led Puerto Rico to gold at the 2023 AmeriCup and a runner-up finish in the 2024 edition, falling just short against the USA.
According to the GBF, the tournament will be the biggest 3×3 tournament to ever hit the Caribbean.
