Zachary Julien’s performance offensively led Fatima College to both the Boys’ Under-20 and U-17 titles in the T&T Schools Basketball Association’s Elevate 3x3 Series at the Southern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Pleasantville, San Fernando on Saturday.
Julien, who was the topscorer in the division with 14 points, helped Fatima seal a narrow 13-11 win over Hillview College in the U-20 Division final to end action in the two-day competition. The division featured 10 teams.
In the semifinals earlier in the day, Fatima comfortably beat St Benedict’s, 16-5 while losing finalist Hillview ousted Presentation, 7-5 in the other match.
The U-17 Division final, was just as close with Fatima, led by Julien, edging Trinity College East also by a two-point (14-12) margin.
Fatima got into the title match in the division, which had 14 teams compete, after defeating St Anthony’s 15-11 while Trinity East edged St Benedict’s, 7-6.
In the battle for third place between the losing semifinalists, St Anthony’s topped St Benedict’s, 13-11.
Julien was also the topscorer in this division also with 24 points.
The winner of the Open Girls competition was decided on day one of the Elevate Series.
Holy Name Convent won the title after sweeping Bishop Anstey High, 2-0, in their best-in-three series on Friday.
Ashaki Charles of Holy Name Convent was the top scorer with eight points.
