A Carapichaima man was burnt beyond recognition after his BMW flipped and burst into flames early yesterday morning.
Nicholas Nigel Bissoon, 25, of Ablack Trace, Beaucarro Road, Carapichaima, died in the accident which occurred around 3.15 am on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (CRH), El Socorro.
The graduate of Presentation College, Chaguanas, was driving his white BMW east along the highway when he crashed into the concrete barriers on the median.
Eyewitnesses said the car flipped several times and then burst into flames with Bissoon trapped inside. Motorists who stopped to assist could only look on helplessly until fire and police officials arrived on the scene.
The Alumni Association of Presentation College, Chaguanas, issued a statement mourning his passing with a picture of a smiling Bissoon in his graduation robe.
The tribute read, “It is with a heavy heart we share the news of the recent passing of one of our 2018 graduates Mr Nicholas Bissoon. Our condolences go out to his family and friends as we say our prayers for one of our departed brother. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
