Jerseem Boodram will be back to defend his title at the Brechin Castle Golf Club Championship at the Brechin Castle Golf Course, Couva from Fridayuntil Sunday (January 17-19).
He will face tough competition from former champion Ayden Ali as well as Alex Kangoo and Ross Ramkissoon.
In the Ladies’ category, it is expected that Ye Ji Lee will be defending her title. She will be challenged by Victoria Seenath, Madison Davis and Isabella Ramdeen.
The Professionals flight will feature Chris Richards Snr, Adam Montano, Arvin Bhim and Chris McMillan.
Other former champions to look out for include Kumar Ramcharan, Ken Pollard, Phagu Khelawan, Angad Sonnilal, Amral Ali, Wnston Jailal, Kevesh Ramnath, Dwayne Ramlal and Hollis George.
"Learn to Golf" junior golfers set to participate
Four exceptional juniors from Let's Learn Golf Tobago—students of Bishop's High School and members of the Magdalena Golf Club—are gearing up to compete in the Brechin Castle Open.
They are Kaiyah Marson, Zahir Sookram, Kaidan Baynes, and Raihan Aman Bansal. Marson will be competing in the Ladies Flight. The 14-year-old is making history as the first female junior golfer from Tobago to enter this tournament. Sookram, 13, and Baynes, 15, will tee off in the Third Flight and Bansal, 15, will bring valuable prior tournament experience in the Second Flight.
The young athletes have honed their skills under the expert guidance of their dedicated coaches, Peter Latchmansingh and assistant coach David Parris, according to a release.
"Let’s Learn Golf Tobago has established itself as a leader in developing Junior golfers. Out of five golf academies in Tobago, we are the only academy with Juniors competing in the Brechin Castle Golf Open 2025, a testament to our relentless commitment and the hard work of our golfers," the release stated.
