An­oth­er work­er has been killed on his job site af­ter be­ing hit by a truck.

The lat­est in­ci­dent oc­curred in Man­zanil­la yes­ter­day and claimed the life of Hard­eo Manohar, 63, of Chin Chin Road, Las Lo­mas.

He was em­ployed as a crew dri­ver with Coos­al Con­struc­tion Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that the com­pa­ny is con­duct­ing road works for the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port in Man­zanil­la.

Ini­tial re­ports stat­ed that around 10.26 am yes­ter­day, a truck dri­ver was re­vers­ing in a souther­ly di­rec­tion on the east­ern lane along the Man­zanil­la/Ma­yaro Road while be­ing di­rect­ed by Ma­ho­har but stopped when he felt the ve­hi­cle roll over some­thing.

Up­on check­ing, the dri­ver saw Manohar ly­ing mo­tion­less on the road.

Work­ers on the site tried to as­sist Manohar, and Emer­gency Health Ser­vices and the Man­zanil­la Po­lice Post were al­so con­tact­ed, but he died at the scene.

When Guardian Me­dia con­tact­ed the com­pa­ny, an of­fi­cial stat­ed that they had no com­ment at this time. An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be done at the San­gre Grande mor­tu­ary.

On Jan­u­ary 16, 43-year-old Dami­an Ram­cha­ran, a Ju­nior Sam­my work­er, was at the com­pa­ny’s Clax­ton Bay com­pound when a ce­ment truck rolled over him.

He was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival at the Cou­va Hos­pi­tal. His rel­a­tives have asked for a thor­ough in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing his death.
