A 24-year-old woman was warded in critical condition while a 25-year-old man was in stable condition at hosptial last night, after they were shot in Port-of-Spain on Wednesday night.
Police said officers of the Inter Agency Task Force’s Charford Court Base received a report of a shooting near Oxford Street at around 8.05 pm.
On reaching the scene, they found a black Nissan Tiida with the wounded man sitting in the front passenger side seat while the wounded woman was sitting behind the driver’s side seat.
Police took both victims to hospital.
Investigators say the man was treated for gunshot wounds to both legs, while the woman remained warded in critical condition.
Police from the Port-of-Spain Division and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit visited the scene and found 22 spent shells of ammunition of various types, including 9 mm, 5.56 and 7.63 caliber.
Officers of the Port-of-Spain CID are continuing enquiries.—Shane Superville
