Two new deaths from COVID-19 have brought the national death toll from the disease to 74 persons, reports the Ministry of Health in its update for this morning, Tuesday 29 September 2020.
And the Ministry notes that both persons are elderly males who had pre-existing health conditions.
The Health Ministry also reports this morning, that some 55 additional persons have tested positive for COVID-19, with the total number of active cases now at 1,913.
It confirms that in accordance with established protocols, these 55 new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.
Meanwhile, more people continue to recover from COVID-19, the Ministry says:
● Some 105 persons have been discharged from public health facilities. The total number of persons discharged, to date, is 1,036.
● About 74 persons are recovered community cases, i.e. persons who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home, and subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.
● The total number of recovered community cases is now 1,418 persons.
● Only 12 persons remain in step-down / transition facilities—four in UWI Debe, and eight in Tobago.
