Of­fi­cers of the Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol ar­rest­ed two men and seized a quan­ti­ty of US cur­ren­cy dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in Port of Spain ear­li­er to­day.

Around 11:20 a.m., of­fi­cers stopped a white Nis­san Ti­i­da near the abat­toir and con­duct­ed a search. They re­port­ed­ly found US$17,534 in cash on one of the men.

The sus­pects, a 31-year-old from Priz­gar Lands and a 39-year-old from Grena­da, were tak­en in­to cus­tody. The Fi­nan­cial In­ves­ti­ga­tions Bu­reau has been con­tact­ed to in­ves­ti­gate the source and in­tend­ed use of the mon­ey.
