A three-year-old boy was in­jured af­ter a steel gate fell on him at his Princes Town home last Thurs­day.

Po­lice said around 4 pm, the child was at his Hope Road home with his 68-year-old grand­moth­er when he rushed out­side to meet his fa­ther.

As the child at­tempt­ed to open the front gate, it re­port­ed­ly de­railed and fell on him, pin­ning him un­der­neath.

With the as­sis­tance of an­oth­er per­son, the gate was re­moved from on top of the tod­dler and the child was tak­en to the Princes Town Dis­trict Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he was treat­ed.
