Close to a month after his body was found abandoned in bushes in Carapo, the relatives of murdered Caroni man Ameer Dylan Hosein are urging anyone with information on his death to come forward and assist the police with their investigations.
Hosein’s family and friends made the call as they staged a demonstration on the South Bank Road, near Frederick Settlement, Caroni, yesterday. Hosein, 31, was last seen alive leaving the home of a friend in Love Lane, Carapo, on January 18.
The burnt remains of his car were found in bushes off O’Meara Road South, and his body was eventually found in the same area on January 26.
During their demonstration, Hosein’s mother, Alicia Hosein, said the relatives had strong suspicions about who was responsible for her son’s murder and appealed for the public’s support in giving the family closure.
She admitted that coping with Hosein’s murder has not been easy as relatives continue to grieve daily. “It’s very sad and hurtful, and I just wish that people would stop murdering each other the way they are,” an emotional Hosein told Guardian Media.
Hosein’s father, Whozeer Hosein, called on those responsible for his son’s murder to do the right thing and surrender to the police.
“I just want justice for my son. I just want these people to give up themselves, and if anybody knows where they are, please say something, because we are fathers and we are mothers too. Please, if you see something, tell us.” Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries into Hosein’s murder.
