Close to a month af­ter his body was found aban­doned in bush­es in Cara­po, the rel­a­tives of mur­dered Ca­roni man Ameer Dy­lan Ho­sein are urg­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion on his death to come for­ward and as­sist the po­lice with their in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Ho­sein’s fam­i­ly and friends made the call as they staged a demon­stra­tion on the South Bank Road, near Fred­er­ick Set­tle­ment, Ca­roni, yes­ter­day. Ho­sein, 31, was last seen alive leav­ing the home of a friend in Love Lane, Cara­po, on Jan­u­ary 18.

The burnt re­mains of his car were found in bush­es off O’Meara Road South, and his body was even­tu­al­ly found in the same area on Jan­u­ary 26.

Dur­ing their demon­stra­tion, Ho­sein’s moth­er, Ali­cia Ho­sein, said the rel­a­tives had strong sus­pi­cions about who was re­spon­si­ble for her son’s mur­der and ap­pealed for the pub­lic’s sup­port in giv­ing the fam­i­ly clo­sure.

She ad­mit­ted that cop­ing with Ho­sein’s mur­der has not been easy as rel­a­tives con­tin­ue to grieve dai­ly. “It’s very sad and hurt­ful, and I just wish that peo­ple would stop mur­der­ing each oth­er the way they are,” an emo­tion­al Ho­sein told Guardian Me­dia.

Ho­sein’s fa­ther, Whozeer Ho­sein, called on those re­spon­si­ble for his son’s mur­der to do the right thing and sur­ren­der to the po­lice.

“I just want jus­tice for my son. I just want these peo­ple to give up them­selves, and if any­body knows where they are, please say some­thing, be­cause we are fa­thers and we are moth­ers too. Please, if you see some­thing, tell us.” Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries in­to Ho­sein’s mur­der.
