Two prison of­fi­cers are ac­cused of help­ing to run an or­gan­ised net­work smug­gling cig­a­rettes, mar­i­jua­na and oth­er pro­hib­it­ed items in­to Gold­en Grove Prison, ac­cord­ing to Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­ders is­sued un­der the State of Emer­gency.

Prison Of­fi­cer I Ke­ston Pierre, al­so known as “Pierre Bul­ly”, and Prison Of­fi­cer I Mar­i­on Ali­cia El­der are ac­cused of us­ing their po­si­tions and ac­cess to fa­cil­i­tate the move­ment of con­tra­band to in­mates.

The or­ders al­lege Pierre es­cort­ed in­mates to the prison’s vis­it­ing area so they could re­ceive pro­hib­it­ed items from El­der, then re­turned them to their cells with­out them be­ing searched.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors al­so al­lege the arrange­ment in­volved in­mates re­mand­ed on mur­der charges and had been op­er­at­ing for an ex­tend­ed pe­ri­od, with par­tic­i­pants re­ceiv­ing fi­nan­cial com­pen­sa­tion for suc­cess­ful de­liv­er­ies.

El­der was ar­rest­ed on Au­gust 24 while on va­ca­tion leave af­ter she was al­leged­ly found with 458 Broad­way cig­a­rettes, about 189 grams of mar­i­jua­na, two Sam­sung head­sets, eight AAA bat­ter­ies and 12 Al­ka-Seltzer Plus tablets.

The or­der says a pre­lim­i­nary ex­am­i­na­tion of El­der’s phone un­cov­ered What­sApp mes­sages and voice notes in­volv­ing prison per­son­nel and in­mates con­cern­ing the move­ment of pro­hib­it­ed items, in­clud­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tions with Pierre.

Fol­low­ing her ar­rest, in­tel­li­gence al­leged­ly in­di­cat­ed Pierre in­struct­ed in­mates to delete con­ver­sa­tions and voice notes linked to the op­er­a­tion.

A phone re­cov­ered from an in­mate’s cell was sub­se­quent­ly found to con­tain delet­ed con­ver­sa­tions and in­struc­tions from a con­tact saved as “Bul­ly”, ac­cord­ing to the or­der.

The al­le­ga­tions form part of a wider batch of Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­ders in­volv­ing sus­pect­ed gang mem­bers and peo­ple ac­cused of se­ri­ous or­gan­ised crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty.

Among those de­tained are Dwight Williams, iden­ti­fied as a mem­ber of the Rail­way Road Bad­ness Gang; Rashide Joseph, linked to the Ras­ta City/Sev­en Gang; and An­ge­lo Sean Raynold Bed­low, iden­ti­fied as a foot sol­dier in the Sixx Gang’s Sig­nal Hill fac­tion in To­ba­go.

An­oth­er de­tainee, Bran­don Ram­sub­hag, al­so known as “Fat­to”, is ac­cused of as­so­ci­at­ing with mem­bers of the Re­sis­tance gang and ad­mit­ted to po­lice that he han­dled an il­le­gal AR-type firearm.

Ryan Bar­ring­ton, al­so known as “Ryie,” is ac­cused of at­tempt­ing to as­sert con­trol over nar­cotics dis­tri­b­u­tion in the Cacique Street and Mar­ket Street ar­eas of Princes Town through threats and in­tim­i­da­tion.

Iran Dook­ie is ac­cused of vi­o­lent firearm-re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ty and was re­cent­ly ar­rest­ed af­ter po­lice al­leged­ly found a loaded re­volver in a ve­hi­cle in San­ta Cruz.

The de­ten­tion or­ders say the mea­sures are nec­es­sary to pre­vent the de­tainees from act­ing in a man­ner prej­u­di­cial to pub­lic safe­ty.
