Almost three weeks after two men were killed during celebrations in Siparia, no one has been arrested in connection with their murders.
The victims were identified as Osei Packette of Taylor Avenue, Quinam Road, Siparia, and Nicholas Mark of Roberts Street, Bank Village, Carapichaima.
While Packette was identified shortly after the incident, it was only days later that Mark’s identity was confirmed.
The men were initially believed to have been shot, but autopsies later confirmed that Packette was shot while Mark was stabbed.
Police said the men were attacked following a dispute during the celebrations.
Around 1.55 am on June 19, officers responded to reports of loud explosions at Taylor Avenue, Quinam Road. When they arrived, they found Packette lying on the roadway, while Mark was found nearby with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Investigators recovered several spent shell casings and a knife from the scene as they processed the area for evidence.
Police also reported seeing a white vehicle leaving the area around the time of the incident.
Region III Homicide officers are continuing investigations.
