Al­most three weeks af­ter two men were killed dur­ing cel­e­bra­tions in Siparia, no one has been ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with their mur­ders.

The vic­tims were iden­ti­fied as Os­ei Pack­ette of Tay­lor Av­enue, Quinam Road, Siparia, and Nicholas Mark of Roberts Street, Bank Vil­lage, Cara­pichaima.

While Pack­ette was iden­ti­fied short­ly af­ter the in­ci­dent, it was on­ly days lat­er that Mark’s iden­ti­ty was con­firmed.

The men were ini­tial­ly be­lieved to have been shot, but au­top­sies lat­er con­firmed that Pack­ette was shot while Mark was stabbed.

Po­lice said the men were at­tacked fol­low­ing a dis­pute dur­ing the cel­e­bra­tions.

Around 1.55 am on June 19, of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to re­ports of loud ex­plo­sions at Tay­lor Av­enue, Quinam Road. When they ar­rived, they found Pack­ette ly­ing on the road­way, while Mark was found near­by with what ap­peared to be gun­shot wounds.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered sev­er­al spent shell cas­ings and a knife from the scene as they processed the area for ev­i­dence.

Po­lice al­so re­port­ed see­ing a white ve­hi­cle leav­ing the area around the time of the in­ci­dent.

Re­gion III Homi­cide of­fi­cers are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
