Prime Min­is­ter Stu­art Young is de­scrib­ing talks with Unit­ed States Sec­re­tary of State, Mar­co Ru­bio as very pos­i­tive and pro­duc­tive.

The meet­ing took place yes­ter­day in Ja­maica yes­ter­day.

The meet­ing took place at a time when the US is im­pos­ing sanc­tions and tar­iffs on coun­tries do­ing busi­ness with Venezuela.

On his Face­book page this morn­ing Prime Min­is­ter Young said he al­so paid a cour­tesy call on the Prime Min­is­ter of Ja­maica An­drew Hol­ness.

"We dis­cussed the re­cent his­to­ry of the re­la­tion­ship be­tween Ja­maica and Trinidad and To­ba­go since 2016 and how it has been strength­ened in mu­tu­al­ly ben­e­fi­cial ways."

The PM added that Prime Min­is­ter of Bar­ba­dos, Mia Mot­t­ley trav­elled to Ja­maica for sim­i­lar en­gage­ments and they used the op­por­tu­ni­ty to have bi­lat­er­al dis­cus­sions on a wide range of top­ics.
